Things are not going well with at Barcelona. Just before the end of the year 2016, the club had to battle injury to a number of key players and loss of form which saw them drop points in an unfamiliar manner.
Many expected the club to bounce back after the Christmas break and kick-start the new year on a positive note but results from their first two games have dashed hopes.
Barca followed a 2 – 1 defeat in the Copa Del Rey to Club Athletic with a one-all draw against Villarreal in the league. The draw saw the club pull apart from rivals Real Madrid in the title race following the latter’s impressive five-nil win over Granada.
As it presently stands in the La Liga, Barcelona are trailing Madrid by five points but star player, Luis Suarez thinks they still have a chance.
“We’ve let two points get away, but we just have to keep working hard.” he said.
“There is still half the season to go and I am sure we will have the chance to fight for the league,”
“The only chance we will have to fight for the title, though, is by getting back to winning soon. To keep playing like this but with a different result.” he concluded.
